Questions we get

From restaurant, bar and lounge owners in Nigeria — answered plainly, including the things ChopNest does not do.

Do my customers need an app?
No. They point their camera at the card and your menu opens in their browser — the same way any web page opens.
Can I change my menu after the cards are printed?
Yes, any time. The code on the card points at your table, not at a copy of your menu, so a price you change today shows on the next scan. You never reprint a card because a price moved.
What if the network is bad?
Orders are held on the phone and sent the second the signal is back — nothing is lost quietly.
Is the free plan a trial?
No. Three tables, the menu, the QR codes and the orders are free for as long as you want them. No card to start.
Can I print the codes myself?
Yes — one card per table, on an ordinary printer. Laminate them if the room is busy. You can reprint a single table without touching the others.
Do I need a website first?
No. ChopNest is the whole thing your guests see. If you already sell on Shopnest, your dishes and prices are here already.
Can my waiters still take orders?
Yes. Waiters key rounds in from their own seat and the table sees them on the same tab. Waiter seats start on Pro — the free plan is an owner seat, and Queue adds only a kitchen screen for a pickup counter.
Do my guests have to pay online?
No. Cash and transfer at the counter work exactly as they do now — the phone is for choosing and ordering, not for forcing a payment method on anybody.
Do you do takeaway and pickup?
Yes. Put a pickup code on the wall or the counter: guests order and pay on their phone, get a code and a live ticket, and collect when it says ready. The free plan has one pickup code; ChopNest Queue is made for pickup-only counters.
Is ChopNest a POS?
No, and that is deliberate. It does not count stock, print to the kitchen or run several branches. It is the menu, the table codes and the orders — which is what most rooms actually need, at a price a room with ten tables can pay.

Nothing here answers it?

The free plan is the fastest answer to most of them — three tables cost nothing and take an afternoon. See what the paid plans add.
